I recently bought a breadmaker and I’ve been trying different recipes. My goal was to find something simple to make that tasted good. What I made didn’t turn out all that pretty but oh did it taste good.
You start off with a half a cup of room temperature milk. In that add two teaspoons of active dry yeast and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. You stir this mixture together and let it sit there for about 10 minutes.
- 1/2 Cup of Milk
- 1 Teaspoon of Salt
- 1 Cup of sugar Sugar
- 1 tablespoon of Brown Sugar
- Active Dry Yeast
- Two Cups of All-Purpose Flour
- 3 Medium Eggs
- 1 Stick of Butter (melted)
Now mix together 2 cups of flour, your active yeast, milk mixture that you made earlier, with 3 eggs, and a stick of butter. Some say you want it softened, I just melted mine in the microwave. Last but not least you want to add a full cup of sugar.
I’ve also made this with two full sticks of butter and it was amazing as well.
Mix it all together, making sure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed in, and then cover it. Let it rest for about thirty minutes.
Now add this mixture to your bread maker.
In my case, my bread maker allows me to control the crust setting so I selected “light”, although I have also done this on the medium crust and it was okay but I just personally prefer light.
I used the pre-setting on my breadmaker for white bread, which in my case was pre-setting 1.
